Athboy Development Forum CLG invites applications for the position of Caretaker based at the Convent Community Centre and St. James' Hall, Athboy. This is a permanent position with 19 part time hours weekly.
The successful candidate will support the day to day operation of our community facilities, helping to ensure they remain safe, welcoming and ready for community use. They will be prepared to work on their own initiative, have good communication skills and an interest in community activities.
The role requires flexibility and will include evening and weekend work.
Salary in accordance with CSP funding guidelines and experience.
Previous experience in caretaking, facilities, hospitality, retail or community settings is desirable but not essential.
This role is supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Pobal through the Community Services Programme (CSP).

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, Garda Vetting and verification of the right to work in Ireland. A six month probationary period will apply.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Open, secure, and monitor ADF facilities in line with operational schedules and activities, ensuring facilities are safely prepared and secured at the beginning and end of each shift.
2. Prepare, set up, clean, maintain, and monitor rooms and facilities for meetings, classes, events, and community activities.
3. Ensure furniture and equipment are safely set up, removed, and stored, ensuring good standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety throughout the facilities.
4. Welcome facility users, visitors, and community groups in a friendly, professional, and inclusive manner, responding to phone, email, and in-person enquiries as required.
5. Work closely with the Facilities Manager, staff team, CE/TúS participants, volunteers, contractors, and service providers to support the effective daily operation of ADF facilities.
6. Monitor the condition, security, safety, and daily operation of ADF facilities, carry out essential minor repairs where safe to do so, and promptly report maintenance, operational, or safety concerns in line with ADF procedures.
7. Maintain accurate timekeeping, attendance, and communication standards, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and flexibility in supporting scheduled activities and operational requirements.
