Frame and construct roof structures including rafters, ridge boards, trusses, and hip/valley systems.
Measure, cut, and shape wood and lumber with precision using hand and power tools.
Install roof decking, sheathing, and structural wood components.
Build and repair wooden frameworks for walls, floors, and ceilings as part of broader carpentry work.
Cut and install fascia boards, soffit panels, wooden trim, and exterior finish carpentry.
Repair or replace damaged wood structures caused by rot, weather, or wear.
Fit and install doors, window frames, and other wooden fixtures on site.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Follow all on-site safety procedures, especially when working at heights.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on carpentry experience, with at least 2 years specifically in roof framing, installation, or repair
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple roofing systems (pitched, flat, metal, shingle) and a solid understanding of how each performs in different conditions
Comfortable and confident using power tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment on active job sites
Proven experience working safely on rooftops, scaffolding, and elevated platforms
Able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and remain on your feet for extended periods
Ability to assess structural issues on site and make sound decisions without constant supervision
