SPE a well-established company, currently expanding, are looking for highly motivated and skilled CNC Operator specializing in Struder Cylindrical Grinding Machines, to set-up, program, monitor and operate the grinding machines to produce high-precision components for critical industries. Successful candidates must have the following experiences and skills: • Set up, operate and monitor the Studer CNC cylindrical grinder • Evaluate drawings and technical specifications to ensure all components meet the exact requirements • Select, mount, and balance grinding wheels and dressing tools. • Execute setups and operations on Studer CNC cylindrical grinding machines safely. • Optimize machining processes by adjusting speeds, feeds, and tooling offsets. • Interpret technical blueprints to determine precise sequence of operations. • Perform rigorous quality checks using micrometers and air gauges and surface finish testers • Achieve dimensional tolerances consistently down to sub-micron levels. • Troubleshoot program errors directly at the machine control panel. Process and Quality Control • Manage tight tolerances and surface finishes in line with aerospace standards • Document quality checks and carry out in-process inspections in accordance with aerospace standards Production Management • Manage aerospace components through both mill-turn and grinding operations • Coordinate with the planning team to meet customer delivery deadlines • Contribute to process improvements, reduction of cycle times and scrap minimisation Required Experience: • Previous experience in CNC machining • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles for interpreting complex engineering drawings would be an advantage, training will be provided • Experience with relevant inspection tools and quality standards for aerospace
