Our partner is seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join their production team. This role is responsible for converting engineering STEP files into high-precision machine programs for a range of Trumpf manufacturing equipment.
The successful candidate will act as the technical link between the engineering and production teams, ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, optimum material utilisation, and smooth transition from design through to finished product.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and optimise CNC programs using the Trumpf TruTops, TruTops Boost, and TruTops Tube software platforms for sheet laser cutting, tube laser cutting, and press brake operations.
• Import, analyse, and process STEP files received from the engineering team, identifying potential manufacturing challenges and recommending solutions before production begins.
• Develop efficient nesting strategies to minimise material waste, maximise sheet utilisation, and improve overall production efficiency.
• Use SAP or equivalent ERP systems to manage material allocation, accurately record stock usage, and maintain full material traceability throughout the production process.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements, tolerances, and bend allowances.
• Work closely with engineering and shop floor teams to resolve programming, tooling, and manufacturing issues while maintaining quality and delivery targets.
Desirable Experience (Not Essential)
• Previous experience working with the Trumpf ecosystem, including TruTops, TruTops Boost, or TruTops Tube.
• Experience programming sheet laser, tube laser, and press brake machinery.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems for production and material management.
• Experience within a precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environment.
Personal Attributes (the ideal candidate will be):
• Analytical and highly detail-oriented.
