Dublin School of Music is seeking an experienced Director of School Operations to oversee the day-to-day management of our three Dublin locations while also delivering advanced piano and singing tuition.
Please note that a Master's degree in Music (or a closely related discipline) is an essential requirement for this position.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position (minimum two-year contract) offering a starting salary of €42,000 per annum.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in the continued development of one of Ireland's leading private music schools, combining operational management, educational administration, staff leadership and teaching.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the day-to-day operation of our schools in Terenure, Tallaght and Stillorgan
Coordinating student enrolments, lesson scheduling and teacher timetables using MyMusicStaff
Supporting students and families with bookings, lesson changes, invoicing and administration
Recruiting, onboarding and supporting teaching staff, including Garda Vetting and employment documentation
Coordinating substitute teachers and managing staffing requirements
Organising RIAM and ABRSM examinations, accompanists and examination timetables
Monitoring enrolment, staffing and operational performance
Developing efficient teaching timetables and maximising teacher utilisation
Working closely with the School Owner to support the continued growth of Dublin School of Music
Teaching advanced piano and singing, including preparation for recognised music examinations up to Grade 8
Providing teaching cover where operationally required
Essential requirements:
Master's degree in Music (or closely related discipline)
Bachelor's degree in Music, Music Education, Music Performance or a related discipline
Minimum two years' experience in an operational leadership, management or senior administrative role within an educational, arts or performing arts organisation
Minimum five years' experience teaching music
Ability to teach both piano and singing to a high standard
Experience using education management software (MyMusicStaff or similar)
Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
Commitment to safeguarding children and willingness to complete Garda Vetting
Ongoing engagement in professional musical performance
Desirable experience includes preparing students for RIAM or ABRSM examinations, organising performances and recitals, and managing music teaching staff.
The role combines teaching across our three Dublin locations with administrative responsibilities and opportunities to work from home where appropriate.
