Gilligans Farm Fresh Meats Limited is seeking a Meat processing operative to join their team at Gilligan Farm, Derrane Road, Four Mile House, Co. Roscommon, F42EV61. The Meat Processing Operative will be responsible for carrying out meat processing and production activities in accordance with company procedures, food safety legislation, and quality standards. The role supports the efficient production, preparation, packaging, and dispatch of meat products while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Receive, inspect, and handle raw meat products in accordance with company procedures. • Trim, cut, debone, portion, prepare, and process meat products using knives and processing equipment. • Operate meat processing machinery safely and efficiently following standard operating procedures. • Weigh, package, label, and prepare meat products for storage and distribution. • Follow all hygiene procedures, including cleaning and sanitising work areas, equipment, and processing tools. • Store raw materials and finished products correctly to maintain product quality and food safety. • Identify and report equipment faults, maintenance issues, product defects, or food safety concerns to supervisors. • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets and operational objectives. • Follow all company health and safety policies, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe manual handling techniques. Qualifications and Experience • Previous experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, or a similar production environment is essential • Prior experience working in an abattoir/slaughterhouse environment is a distinct advantage but not strictly mandatory. • English fluency is required for this role. Remuneration is €32,691 per annum based on 39 hours per week A minimum of 1 -3 years’ experience in a similar role essential.
