A Mixed Farm Operative supports the daily operation of a mixed farming enterprise by carrying out livestock, crop, and general farm duties in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Care for livestock, including feeding, watering, bedding, health monitoring, and routine husbandry tasks.
Assist with handling and moving livestock in accordance with animal welfare standards.
Support crop production activities such as planting, fertilising, harvesting, and storing crops.
Operate tractors, machinery, and farm equipment safely and perform basic maintenance.
Maintain farm buildings, fences, gates, and other infrastructure.
Monitor livestock, crops, and equipment, reporting any health, welfare, or maintenance issues.
Follow biosecurity, food safety, environmental, and health and safety procedures.
Assist with loading, unloading, and storing feed, fertiliser, and farm supplies.
Work as part of a team to meet daily and seasonal production targets.
Skills and Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Good understanding of animal welfare and farm safety.
Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and sufficient English language skills.
