Job Overview & Purpose
Job Title: Regional Manager – Western Alzheimer's
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Purpose:
Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of regional dementia services, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care across home support, day care and befriending programmes.
Key Responsibilities
• Leadership: Lead, support and develop managers, coordinators and supervisors, promoting collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Service Delivery: Oversee the effective, consistent and efficient delivery of home support, day care and befriending services.
• Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with organisational policies, regulatory requirements, service agreements, dementia care best practice, the Charities Governance Code, GDPR and data protection legislation.
• Quality & Risk: Monitor quality, safeguarding, risk management and evidence-based practice. Lead audits, evaluations and quality improvement initiatives.
• Workforce: Support recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision and retention of staff and volunteers, ensuring Garda Vetting and reference checks are completed.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective relationships with people living with dementia, family carers, healthcare professionals, funders and community partners.
• Resources & Finance: Manage regional budgets, workforce planning and resource allocation. Prepare operational, financial and performance reports for senior management, funders and regulators.
• Safeguarding: Promote a strong safeguarding culture, manage concerns appropriately and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and mandatory training.
Person Specification
• Third-level qualification (NFQ Level 7 or above) in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, Health Management or a related discipline.
• At least five years' management experience in health, social care, community services or the not-for-profit sector, including responsibility for multi-site services, staff leadership and budget management.
• Strong knowledge of person-centred dementia care and community-based services.
Skills & Experience
• Proven leadership, staff development, change management and team-building skills.
• Strong risk assessment, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of adult safeguarding legislation, the Charities Governance Code, service level agreements and publicly funded services.
• Experience in budgeting, financial reporting and resource planning.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, presentation and report-writing skills.
• Good understanding of GDPR, confidentiality and information governance.
