Job Title: Steel Fixer Company Name: Palmira Limited Location: Unit1, Island House, Great Island, Ballincollig, Co. Cork P31EW73 Job Description: Palmira Limited is currently seeking a Steel Fixer (Category B) to join our team on residential and commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, positioning and securing steel reinforcement for reinforced concrete structures in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and Health & Safety requirements. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret construction drawings, reinforcement schedules and engineering specifications. Measure, cut, bend and tie reinforcing steel bars (rebar) and steel mesh using appropriate hand and power tools. Position and secure reinforcement in accordance with structural drawings and project specifications. Assemble reinforcement cages for foundations, columns, beams, walls and slabs. Ensure reinforcement is correctly spaced and fixed before concrete is poured. Work closely with site supervisors and other construction trades to ensure efficient project delivery. Inspect reinforcement installations to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and quality standards. Maintain a safe and organised work environment, complying with all Health & Safety regulations. Operate tools and equipment safely and report any defects or safety concerns. Perform other related duties consistent with the role of Steel Fixer. Job Requirements: Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Steel Fixer in the construction industry; Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and reinforcement schedules; Ability to work at heights and in outdoor construction environments; Understanding of site safety regulations and PPE usage; Physically fit with suitable manual skills for construction tasks.
