Monaghan Showjumping are seeking a Stud Groom for their site at Hodgestown, Kilcock, Co. Kildare, to support the professional management and operation of an equine stud environment, ensuring the effective handling, preparation, monitoring and development of breeding stock and young horses.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily equine operations, including the handling, preparation and organisation of broodmares, stallions and youngstock.
Prepare horses for breeding activities, veterinary procedures, inspections, transportation, sales and equine events.
Monitor horse condition, behaviour and performance while maintaining accurate records relating to individual horses, breeding schedules and activities.
Coordinate with veterinary surgeons, farriers, trainers and other equine professionals to support effective horse management.
Maintain professional standards across stables, equipment and facilities, including the movement and preparation of horses for training, competition and breeding purposes.
Skills and Experience
Strong knowledge of horse handling, behaviour and training routines.
Experience working with breeding stock, young horses and performance horses.
Ability to maintain accurate records and follow structured equine management programmes.
Ability to work independently and as part of an experienced equine team.
