A Healthcare Assistant (HCA) provides direct, hands-on care and support to patients in home care environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Help patients with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
Mobility & Feeding: Assist with getting in and out of bed, moving around, meal preparation, and feeding.
Clinical Support: Monitor vital signs (like pulse and blood pressure), record dietary intake, and manage continence care.
Medication & Observations: Prompt patients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in a patient's health or well-being to a supervisor or nurse
Household & Environment: Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment for the client.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Education: Typically require a certificate in Care, or equivalent qualifications.
Garda Vetting: Mandatory national background check for working with vulnerable individuals.
Communication: Fluency in written and spoken English
