Avara Landscapes Ltd, one of Ireland’s leading landscape contractors specialising in high-quality hard and soft landscaping works across Leinster, Munster and Connacht, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, repair and safety of plant, machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the maintenance and repair of landscaping plant and equipment, including excavators, dumpers, ride-on mowers, strimmers, chainsaws, hedge cutters, compaction equipment, and associated tools used in hard and soft landscaping.
Ensure all machinery and equipment meets required safety standards and complies with relevant Irish health & safety legislation.
Conduct regular inspections, plan preventative maintenance schedules, and coordinate emergency repairs to minimise downtime on site.
Train and oversee staff in the safe operation, handling and basic maintenance of plant and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, servicing history and safety compliance documentation.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the maintenance of plant and machinery, ideally within landscaping, construction, groundworks or a related outdoor sector.
Irish-recognised certifications: Safe Pass, Manual Handling (and any other relevant plant/operator tickets).
Strong practical knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations applicable to construction and landscaping sites.
Proven ability to lead a small team and manage maintenance operations in a fast-paced site environment.
Desirable Skills
Previous experience as a supervisor or team leader in landscaping, construction or plant hire.
Full clean driving licence (Category B as a minimum; C1 or C advantageous for van and light truck use).
Hands-on experience with the types of machinery commonly used in hard and soft landscaping.
Additional health & safety qualifications (e.g. First Aid, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent).
