TankBuilder Limited specialises in the manufacturing of high-quality buffer tanks. Due to continued business expansion, we are seeking a skilled and experienced NDT Technician to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will carry out non-destructive testing and inspection of welded components and fabricated assemblies to ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications and applicable quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out non-destructive testing of materials, welds, and fabricated components using methods appropriate to the job requirements and the technician’s qualifications.
Accurately read and interpret technical drawings, inspection procedures, and manufacturing specifications.
Identify, evaluate, and report defects or inconsistencies against the specified acceptance criteria.
Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain testing records.
Work closely with the welding and fabrication team to resolve quality issues and inspect completed repairs.
Check and maintain inspection equipment, ensuring calibration requirements are met.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping in the workshop.
Work effectively both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in non-destructive testing and inspection within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Relevant NDT qualifications or certifications appropriate to the inspection methods used.
Experience inspecting welded steel components and fabricated assemblies.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and inspection specifications accurately.
Good understanding of welding defects, testing procedures, and quality control processes.
Strong attention to detail and accurate report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
Experience in tank manufacturing is an advantage but not essential.
