Residential Care Worker Permanent contract, 39 hours per week Residential Care Services Drumanure, Co. Longford Job Purpose The Residential Care Worker is expected to engage in daily activities and routines of the service that they are working in, inclusive of direct support to service users, administration work and daily household tasks required of them. Job Responsibilities • To motivate, support and encourage service users to engage in planned activities of their choice. • Supporting the care of the service user such as personal care and providing a general over view of their everyday needs. • Deliver high-quality care and assistance to residents according to individual care plans and Centre Management instructions. • Ensure that the main principles of the National Standards of Residential Child Care (dignity, privacy, choice, safety, realising potential, and equality and diversity) are reflected in service delivery. • Advise the Social Care Manager of any changes in young people’s needs. • Support young people in accessing information in appropriate formats, enabling informed choices. • Ensure the implementation of young people’s care plans and placement plans through practice. • Promote awareness of safety for young people and staff. • Liaise with the Social Care Manager, Deputy Social Care Manager, Social Care Leader, and staff on centre-related issues. • Adhere to company policies and procedures, attend required training, and actively engage in professional supervision. What you will need: • Relevant Health Care or Social Care Qualification – QQI Level 7 as a minimum. • Full, clean Driving Licence - desirable. • A thorough knowledge of the principles and practice of social care • A genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities.
