Harmony Care is seeking qualified and motivated Social Care Workers to join our residential care services. The successful candidates will work as part of a professional and supportive care team, providing high quality, person centred care to children and young people within a residential setting.
The role of the Social Care Worker is to support the day to day care, wellbeing and development of young people, helping to provide a safe, stable, nurturing and supportive environment. Social Care Workers will build positive and appropriate professional relationships with young people while promoting their independence, participation, personal development and overall wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include supporting young people with their daily routines and activities, participating in individual care planning and key working, maintaining accurate records and reports, implementing individual support and placement plans, contributing to risk assessments and safeguarding practices, and participating in team meetings, supervision and ongoing training.
Social Care Workers are expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, management, families and other professionals involved in the care of young people. The role requires a professional approach, good judgement, strong communication skills and the ability to respond appropriately to challenging or changing situations.
This is a residential care position and involves rostered shift work, which may include daytime and evening hours, weekends, public holidays and sleeping night duties in accordance with the requirements of the service.
Key Requirements
Applicants must hold a recognised qualification in Social Care or an appropriate relevant qualification suitable for the position.
Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, an understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary residential care team.
Previous experience supporting children or young people within residential care, social care or a similar environment is desirable.
A full driving licence is required due to the nature of the position and the requirement to support young people within the community.
Successful candidates will be required to complete Garda Vetting and all relevant pre employment checks before commencing employment.
Candidates who have lived or worked outside Ireland will also be required to provide appropriate police clearance documentation from the relevant country or countries of residence, where applicable.
